YOUNG VOICES EDUCATION PROGRAM: FOR STUDENTS & FACULTY ONLY

TUES, 12/8, 10:00am to 1:00pm
BAY STREET THEATER

The Hamptons Doc Fest is proud to inspire the next generation of filmmakers with programs for local middle and high school students.

This year’s Young Voices workshop titled "Four Key Elements to Persuasive Storytelling" will feature student films submitted to the Hometown Heroes filmmaking contest. Ann Collins, a film editor and instructor from SVA, will lead the workshop with input from Kris Liem, an Emmy Award-winning film editor and mentor for HDF’s student filmmakers.

The Young Voices program will screen the top films from the HDF’s Hometown Heroes filmmaking competition, in which students submit a short documentary film featuring their Hometown Heroes. The contest enables student filmmakers to hone their craft while celebrating the people and organizations that positively impact their lives. The top three filmmakers receive a cash prize. The first place film will also be screened at Hamptons Doc Fest’s Breakfast Shorts program.
