William Bryant Logan joins Hamptons Doc Fest at our 2025 DOCS EQUINOX to talk about trees. William is the author of SPROUT LANDS, OAK, AI, and DIRT, the last of which was made into an award-winning documentary. He is a certified arborist, on the faculty of the New York Botanical Garden, and founder and president of Urban Arborists, Inc.

For DOCS EQUINOX 2025 we created the "Earth Central Hub" where local environmental groups presented information to our patrons before each documentary screening.

In celebration of Black History Month, Hamptons Doc Fest presents “Communities of Resilience” at Southampton Arts Center. Keynote speakers: Dr. Georgette Grier-Key and Renee V.H. Simons, two extraordinary women who helped establish and preserve a Sag Harbor neighborhood of 3 enclaves known as SANS: Sag Harbor Hills, Azurest, and Ninevah. Their stories remind us of shared community and resilience in the face of change.

Hamptons Doc Fest would like to recognize the winners of the 1st Young Voices Hometown Heroes Short Doc Competition. Students we asked the submit a short documentary on their Hometown Hero and were awarded scholarships at a presentation at the 2024 Hamptons Doc Fest.

Hamptons Doc Fest teamed up with Take Two Film Academy for the 2024 YOUNG VOICES: Media Education Workshop for Middle & High School Students. This workshop sponsored by The Yaffa Foundation was held at LTV in Wainscott NY.

Hamptons Doc Fest is proud to present the 2024 Pennebaker Career Achievement Award to filmmaker Michael Moore. The Pennebaker Career Achievement Award is given to documentary filmmakers who have made important and lasting contributions to the world of nonfiction film and on whose shoulders we stand.
