At the head of a remote Maine harbor, 60-some workers of the Brooklin Boat Yard saw, sand, and coax planks of fine wood into one of the finest sailing boats in the world. Over the course of 16 months, these craftsmen work meticulously on the 56-foot vessel as the director immerses the viewer in a close-knit community rooted in the time-honored craft. As critiqued in Screen International: “… a quiet delight of a film, which, in its unassuming way, feels almost profound at a time when much of the world seems eager to outsource its creative endeavours to machines.” The film premiered at the 2026 Venice International Film Festival.

Luke Lorentzen won an Emmy for Outstanding Serialized Sports Documentary in 2020 for Last Chance U. He also won the Directing Award for a U.S. Documentary Competition at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival for A Still Small Voice.
