Susan Bloom
Susan has had a long career in supporting the arts. Following college she lived in Berlin for two years, working at the Museum für Volkekunde. On returning to the U.S., she developed a highly regarded sponsorship program for the American Express Company, funding a variety of visual and performing arts programs. At AmEx, she worked with many of the world’s most prestigious institutions, such as the Metropolitan Museum, the National Gallery in London, the National Gallery in Washington, the New York Philharmonic, the Paris Opera, the Hermitage Museum, the Prado and dozens of others. Later, as an independent professional in the international arts and corporate arenas, she spent decades producing Annie Leibovitz’s touring exhibitions while counting among her corporate clients Eli Lilly, Chrysler, Boeing, and GTE. She also headed the Host Committee for the GRAMMY Awards when they were held in New York City.
Susan, an anthropology major in college, has been a long-time documentary film fan, starting with the Margaret Mead film festivals of long ago. Her life-long interest in movies began in childhood, when her mother encouraged her to stay up for the late movies on TV, even on school nights.
Susan is an active volunteer at East End Hospice, in Westhampton Beach. She and her husband split their time between Manhattan and Sag Harbor.
